Welcome to Changing Faces

Changing Faces Theatre Company is a not-for-profit theatre company - young, vibrant and ready to bring the highest quality of interactive, literacy- based theatre and workshops to primary aged children at your school!

With classroom experience, a passion for language, a little bit of glue and a lot of imagination husband and wife team Nicholas Kessler and Heather Code, who met during their training at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, formed Changing Faces Theatre Company as a direct response to the challenges of teaching literacy in the classroom in the 21st Century.

Changing Faces Theatre Company is a not-for-profit children's theatre company, touring to schools near you! Our goal is for young people to see, hear and feel the power of language, so that words and drama are always LIVE and INTERACTIVE. We present literary tradition with creative inspiration and challenge our audience to do the same.

AS actors we have a unique relationship with language. Our job is to read the words, analyse the text, interpret the meaning, and ultimately to perform the piece of writing as if it were our own. Given that children have completely uninhibited and boundless imaginations, they are the perfect fodder for play, or more specifically: to play with language.

Everyone in the village was aware of the Wild and Wonderful Woods, but no one knew exactly what was in them. But they all knew that in this forgotten forest, funny things can happen... This is the tall, tantalizing tale that takes place in these Wild and Wonderful Woods: a telling tale of what happens to humans in a hungry household when they run out of more than just food; a twisted tale of a blind-eyed witch who waited with baited breath to eat two yummy morsels “young and sweet”; a triumphant tale of two children who went wandering into the woods one day. This is the tremendous, tongue-twisting tale of Hansel and Gretel!
