About Changing Faces
Heather Code
Born in Ontario, Canada, Heather'?s love for theatre began at school with the Canadian Classic "Anne of Green Gables" where she played the title role. She studied at the University of Toronto Drama Programme before finishing her training at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School?--a specialist in classical theatre. Before training as an actor, she worked extensively with primary children of varying abilities (mainstream, and Special Educational Needs including ASD, ADD/ADHD, PMLD, MLD, SLD). With a love for theatre, classical literature and children it is ?only natural to combine all three,? she says. Changing Faces Theatre Company marks this exciting fusion.
Nicholas Kessler
Nicholas began his acting career at the age of eight when he played Fagin in his school?'s version of Oliver Twist. Wearing his Nan?'s old leather coat and with a mean Cockney accent, Nicholas became hooked on theatre. As he later learned, his dyslexia prevented him from reading and writing until age eleven, but he found respite and literacy education in theatre. Nick went on to join the National Youth Theatre and toured for PHAB (Physically Handicapped and Able Bodied Society) before training as an actor at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. He is confident that Changing Faces Theatre Company will help children who, like him, found primary literacy a challenge.
